What the $330 Base Rental Includes
The $330 base rental is the fixed hire fee for the trailer skip itself. It covers delivery to your site, pick-up once you’re finished, seven full days of hire and GST.
Waste disposal is charged separately once the trailer is tipped at the waste facility. Disposal costs are calculated based on the actual weight of your load and the type of material being disposed of, as recorded on the weighbridge. This means there are no inflated “all-inclusive” prices or estimates built into your hire.
You simply pay the base hire fee plus the real, measured disposal charge for your waste. It’s a pay-for-what-you-use system that keeps pricing fair and transparent, especially for smaller or lighter loads where full flat-rate packages would cost more than necessary.
We can provide weighbridge dockets on request so you can see the exact disposal weights and charges for full transparency.
Weight Limits and Masonry Loads
All our trailer skips have a maximum load limit of 1500 kilograms.
Dense materials like bricks, concrete, tiles, soil and rubble reach the weight limit very quickly. For this reason:
- Masonry loads must be booked into the 4m³ trailer skip only.
- Masonry loads are capped at approximately 2 cubic metres or under 1500 kilograms.
- Mixing heavy masonry into larger bins will exceed legal towing limits.
If your job involves heavier materials, call us first so we can make sure the correct bin size and loading limits are applied.
How Tipping is Charged
Tipping fees are charged based on the actual weight and material type of your load once the trailer is weighed at the waste facility.
Trade and construction materials such as timber, gyprock, bricks, tiles, concrete and rubble are much heavier than general household junk. While disposal is charged at standard mixed-waste tipping rates, these materials reach higher weights very quickly, which means the total disposal cost is usually higher than household waste for the same trailer volume.
Your total price is made up of the base trailer hire plus the disposal charge calculated from the weighbridge results after tipping.
We supply weighbridge dockets upon request so you have full transparency and can see the exact disposal weights and charges for your load.
What Counts as Trade & Construction Waste
Trade and construction waste includes materials from renovations, building sites and commercial works such as:
Timber offcuts, gyprock and plasterboard, building packaging, metal, carpet and flooring, joinery waste, bricks, tiles, concrete, rubble, site protection plastics and pallet waste.
Mixed loads containing any trade materials will be charged at the maximum tipping rate as required by disposal facilities.
Choosing the Right Bin Size
Your bin size choice is based on volume requirements — not weight capacity, as every trailer has the same maximum towing weight.
- 4m³ is used for masonry and heavy materials
- 5m³ suits moderate renovation waste without masonry
- 6m³ works best for light bulky trade clear-outs or mixed packaging waste
If you are unsure which option suits your project, call Danny before booking for honest advice — choosing the wrong size can lead to either wasted space or weight restrictions.
