What is included in the skip bin hire price?

All quoted prices include GST, delivery to your location, pick-up at the end of hire, up to 1,000 kilograms of waste and 7 days hire. No hidden fees for standard bookings within these limits.

What happens if my skip bin is overloaded?

If your load exceeds the included 1,000 kilograms, an overweight fee of $44 per 100 kilograms applies. The absolute maximum weight for all trailer skip bins is 1,500 kilograms — no skip can be loaded beyond this legal limit.

What if I need the skip bin for longer than 7 days?

The standard hire period is 7 days. If you need extra time, additional days are charged at $33 per day.

Are there extra charges for certain items?

Yes. Some items attract additional disposal fees: mattresses are $110 each, tyres are $77 each, paint tins are $33 each, and gas bottles are $33 each. These are charged per item on top of the hire price.

What items cannot go in the skip bin?

The following items are not accepted: chemicals, oils, fuel or liquids, paint, gas bottles, asbestos and car batteries. If prohibited items are found in the skip, additional handling and disposal charges may apply.

Does a larger skip bin mean I can load more weight?

No. All three skip bin sizes share the same maximum weight limit of 1,500 kilograms. Larger bins give you more volume, not more weight capacity.

Heavy building materials must be discussed before booking as they add weight quickly. These loads are generally best suited to the 4m³ skip only, where weight can be managed safely. The 5m³ and 6m³ skips are better suited to lighter trade waste. All trailer skips have a legal maximum load of 1,500 kilograms. What can’t go in the skip bin?

For safety and disposal reasons, the following items should not be placed in our mobile skip bins:

Chemicals
Oils
Fuel or other liquids
Paint or paint tins
Gas bottles
Asbestos
Car batteries

Paint tins and gas bottles are not accepted waste items and should not be placed in the skip.

If they are discovered in the skip after collection, additional handling and disposal charges apply:

Paint tins: $33 each
Gas bottles: $33 each

Other prohibited materials may also attract additional handling or disposal charges if found.

Can I put bricks, concrete, tiles or soil in the skip?

Heavy building materials and dense demolition waste must be discussed with us before booking because these materials can add weight very quickly.

These loads are generally best suited to our 4m³ mobile skip, where the amount of heavy material can be managed more carefully.

Our 5m³ mobile skip and 6m³ mobile skip are better suited to lighter trade and renovation waste such as timber, gyprock, packaging, insulation and general strip-out waste.

All trailer skips include up to 1,000 kg, with overweight charges applying above this amount. The maximum loaded weight is 1,500 kg.

Larger bins give you more space, not more weight capacity.

What if I go over the 1,000 kg included weight?

Your trailer skip hire includes up to 1,000 kg of waste.

If your load exceeds the included weight, the excess is charged at:
$4.40 per 10 kg, equivalent to $440 per tonne.

Overweight charges are calculated in 10 kg increments, and weighbridge dockets can be supplied on request.

Please note that 1,500 kg is the maximum loaded weight for all of our trailer skip bins.

Larger bins give you more space, not more weight capacity.
